Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) services on fleet vehicles and equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections and identify worn, damaged, or unsafe components.
  • Perform oil and filter changes, lubrication, fluid checks, battery service, belt and hose inspections, and other routine maintenance.
  • Inspect and service brakes, tires, lighting systems, suspension components, and other vehicle systems as required.
  • Diagnose basic mechanical, electrical, and operational issues and recommend necessary repairs.
  • Complete minor repairs and component replacements within assigned skill level.
  • Accurately document all maintenance, inspections, repairs, parts, and labor in the fleet maintenance system.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and properly use shop tools and equipment.
  • Follow all company safety policies, manufacturer procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate vehicle condition, repair needs, and safety concerns to supervisors and fleet management.
  • Help maintain fleet availability by completing assigned PM services efficiently and on schedule.
  • Perform other duties related to fleet maintenance as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience in fleet, automotive, diesel, heavy equipment, or related maintenance preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to perform preventative maintenance inspections and identify potential mechanical problems.
  • Ability to read and follow service manuals, maintenance schedules, and written procedures.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to accurately complete electronic maintenance records.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced fleet shop environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience maintaining commercial vehicles, trucks, trailers, or heavy equipment.
  • Diesel maintenance experience.
  • Familiarity with computerized fleet maintenance management systems.
  • Ability to operate shop equipment such as lifts, diagnostic tools, air systems, and other maintenance equipment.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

  • Stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and work in confined or awkward positions for extended periods.
  • Lift and carry tools, parts, and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Work safely around vehicles, machinery, lubricants, tools, and shop equipment.
  • Work in varying temperatures and shop conditions.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Location: Garland Tx.
Employment Type: Full-Time
Pay Range: $26-$30, based on experience and qualifications

Pay Range

USD $26.00 - USD $30.00 /Hr.
